Orne oversized wool scarf

A large brushed lambswool scarf, 200 by 70 centimetres, which is wide enough to be worn as a wrap over a coat and long enough to double and loop without strangling. The weave is a plain twill in a single natural cream, brushed on both faces so it is soft against the neck straight out of the box, not after three winters. The fringe is hand-knotted rather than cut, which is the detail that decides whether a scarf still looks like itself after a year. It comes in one size and one colourway on purpose: this is the piece we do not want to make decisions about. Dry clean, or hand wash cold in wool detergent and dry flat away from a radiator.
